Educational demo

This section shows how multi-scale personality inventories work from the inside: how items are written to load on pattern scales, how reverse-keying guards against yes-saying, and how raw answers become banded scale scores.

Not a real test. The Personality Patterns Sampler uses original items written for this site. It has no reliability or validity evidence, no norms, and its results say nothing meaningful about you. It exists purely so you can see the mechanics.

What to look for as you take it

  • Items 2, 6, 9 and 12 are reverse-keyed — agreeing with them lowers the related scale rather than raising it.
  • Each scale is measured by three items, mixing directions.
  • On the results page, notice the band labels are relative to the scale range — real instruments instead compare you to population norms (or, for clinical instruments like the MCMI, to prevalence-anchored Base Rate scores — see Learn).

Before you start

  • Your answers are saved so we can score them and show your results.
  • Only you can see them, in this browser on this device.
  • We keep them for up to 180 days. You can delete them at any time from your results page.
  • If you choose an AI report, your computed scores (never your individual answers) are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider in the USA, to write it.
  • No one reviews your answers in real time. If you need help now, use urgent support, not a questionnaire.
  • You can stop at any time. Results are educational — never a diagnosis.
